Junior mining joy seldom comes all at once. But in the case of rare geniuses or of those with rare, good karma, the possibility is certainly there. Generally, though, success comes over time by the drill bit.

IWA Note:

Outcrop Silver and Gold announced this morning - more significant silver grades. This is very positive news.

The company is focused on silver and gold exploration in Colombia. We consider the best time to be in Colombia drilling low-cost, high-reward potential opportunities. We compare Colombia to Mexico-Central America over 2 decades ago and believe the gold endowment is much larger. Significant potential to discover world-class gold deposits (>5Moz).
Here is the news release from today:

OUTCROP EXPANDS UPPER LA IVANA WITH 0.77 METRES OF 2,310 GRAMS SILVER EQUIVALENT PER TONNE AND DISCOVERS EIGHTH SHOOT AT SANTA ANA

At IWA we thought it might be worthwhile to insert a comment about inflation and the state of the overall stock market. There are many reasons to be concerned - but one of the key drivers is inflation.

It is basic economics - when central banks were infusing money into the financial system at the rate that they were for the past couple of years during the pandemic, that caused inflation down the road. That cash was going to start chasing assets and that’s what’s happening. We are seeing price inflation, and we have supply chain issues. That’s prompted some shortages. That created an end user that wants to stockpile even more supplies which only adds to price inflation.

Gold has had a sizeable run up in the last two months. The trajectory for gold and silver is going to continue to be higher this year. Maybe, much higher. Investors should own silver and gold stocks.

A quick comment on Bitcoin. The trend is that Bitcoin has been trading lower. It is about time. This asset makes no sense to us. The whole silly development is bizarre and contrary to the interests of society. Sadly, this will ruin many new investors experience in the "stock exchange". When will investors learn the real purpose of the stock market?

Stock markets were started when countries in the New World began trading with each other. While many pioneer merchants wanted to start huge businesses, this required substantial amounts of capital that no single merchant could raise alone. As a result, groups of investors pooled their savings and became business partners and co-owners with individual shares in their businesses to form joint-stock companies. Originated by the Dutch, joint-stock companies became a viable business model for many struggling businesses. In 1602, the Dutch East India Co. issued the first paper shares, according to Cambridge University Press. This exchangeable medium allowed shareholders to conveniently buy, sell and trade their stock with other shareholders and investors.

Bitcoin is nothing like that.

You convert cash from your bank account into a digital currency that you can't use to buy anything - and then hope and pray that the price movement is in your favour and someone else loses? Bizarre.
